This year’s Toyota 4Runner is a huge improvement over its predecessors in nearly every department. In fact, 2010 is the first year that the 4Runner has been able to garner the attention of truck enthusiasts around the world. The 4Runner is known for having a rugged box-shaped frame similar to that of the Land Cruiser, but slightly smaller. While the truck is smaller than a Land Cruiser, this year’s model is linger, wider and heavier than its predecessors.
The 4Runner no longer has a v-8. Instead drivers can pick from a 2.7liter four-cylinder or a 4.0 liter V-6 which is capable of producing 270 horsepower (10 more HP than the retired V-8). The four-cylinder edition has a 4 speed automatic transmission, while the V-6 edition comes with a five-speed automatic transmission.
The Toyota 4Runner is an affordable yet stylish and powerful truck that is just starting to blossom, after being perfected over the last half a decade. The Multi-Terrain Select features, and unique Crawl Control make the 4Runner a joy to ride in any terrain. The outside is built to handle all the challenges that nature throws at it, while the inside is luxuriously designed to please the eye.
The seating layout is more spacious than ever before, with the seats being higher off the ground with more leg room. The tailgate is complimented by a slide tray that can support up to 440 pounds by itself.
The 4Runner is an excellent urban truck as well, with smooth handling, comfortable seating, and quiet driving this truck makes a perfect pick for anyone look for an affordable luxury SUV.
